Center for Disease Control
contract for "VERB. It's what you do." Ad campaign to increase and maintain physical activity among tweens (youth age 9-13). (2003) Michele and Rich designed and printed 4- 15 ft x 15 ft carpet game boards for the Kansas City campaign. The game boards were installed in the Kansas City Zoo for 3 months. |

U.S. Department of Education
Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination Grant via Pan-Educational Institute (now ArtsTech). (2004-2007) To create an integrated art model in video and workshop activities with lesson plans (matched with Missouri and Kansas standards) designed to help students gain greater understanding and retention of academic information through the arts. Michele and Richard's roles in this 3 year grant included (in collaboration) writing the winning grant, concept and strategy of art model, teacher training, in-class facilitation, research/evaluation, video production of accompanying material, final curriculum writing, and creating and producing the product packaging of the 5 unit art model. |

18th and Vine Jazz District Murals
funded by Jackson County Prosecutor's Office – C.O.M.B.AT., The Jazz District Renaissance Corporation (JDRC), FOCUS K. C. (2004) Outline of mural was produced on large vinyl banners and the mural was painted by 70 students. The final mural covered a construction wall during some rebuilding of the Vine District. Michele and Richard's role included strategy, program management and facilitation. |

Miracle on 39th St;
Prospect for Change Neighborhood revitalization funded by Jackson County Prosecutor's Office - C.O.M.B.AT. (2002) Clean up of area and creation of mural. Final celebration included stage performances of local poets and musicians. 75 youth, 30 adults participated in the event. Michele and Richard's role included strategy, program management and facilitation. |

North East Corridor Mural
Program funded by Jackson County Prosecutor's Office - C.O.M.B.AT. (2008-2009) Michele and Richard designed the mural through interviews with refugees from around the world who have settled in the Kansas City northeast corridor. The mural was painted by Michele and Rich along with other artists and youth. The mural depicts the symbolic integration of United States values with native values of the numerous cultures and their aspirations to one day return to their native lands. |
